Electronic night & maintenance checks
The CheckIt module consists of a small handheld device, about the size of a mobile phone, which utilizes a barcode scanner. In use, the care worker visits a client’s room and uses the unit to scan a barcode placed inside the room, this ensures that the worker has visited the room. They then attend to the client and finally record their actions on the unit using simple menu choices.
After a round is completed the unit is placed on its docking station where it automatically downloads the data to a remote central server. This means the data is available via the web, for viewing from any location, provided you have the necessary credentials and so allows remote monitoring and analysis at any time. The docking station also charges the units internal battery which can operate for several days without a further charge. Using electronic recording removes the need to print and distribute thousands of paper record sheets saving both money and the environment.

The CheckIT handset
Capturing the intervention as it happens is a key feature of the CheckIT system and so it’s not surprising that it’s easy to do it. Simple menus provide all the options you need and the system is intelligent enough to only ask certain questions in response to certain answers.
Staff like it because it’s user-friendly – ‘no one has had any difficulty learning how to use them – typically, a 5 minute run-through is all that is required.’
Maintenance Whilst the scanner will be very busy at night, it can be used during the day by your maintenance person. CheckIT allows the recording of water temperatures, bed rail condition, window restrictors, colorifiers and many more items so you can be confident all your homes are up to date.
Accurate Records The records provided by the system allow you to effectively monitor the intervention provided by your staff and should the worst happen and you have a serious incident, the time stamped, location certified evidence is invaluable in demonstrating the high level of care you provide.
"With Checkit I now have accurate data recorded at the point of care and staff that are able to carry out a realistic night routine."
